Animal Sanctuary

In 2019 NMWR expanded it's mission. While maintaining our wildlife rehab services, we are also providing long term sanctuary for non-domestic exotic and native animals that cannot be released into the wild.

The mission of the sanctuary is to improve the welfare of the animals in our care, while promoting the importance of animal welfare, biodiversity and ecosystem preservation through educational programs and community outreach.

The types of animals included in our Sanctuary include reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds and invertebrates.

**We do not take in domestic or farm animals.

Mission Statement:

To ensure quality care is provided to injured and orphaned native animals while providing sanctuary to both native and exotic species that cannot be released into the wild.  In addition to promote a better understanding of the critical role biodiversity plays to the well being of our planets ecosystems through advocacy and by providing science based environmental education programming.
