A new feature has been added!!

A photo album has been started due to popular demand to post additional photographs too.  In an effort to keep this website from being too bulky, photographs are limited.  The photo album allows more photographs to be available.

Berkeley County Properties surrounding  purposed quarry location Berkeley County Tax Properties

The Berkeley County Tax map above shows the relationship of the two pieces (indicated by red dots) of property that comprise the Carr Farm to the surrounding residential and farm properties.  These properties that now sell for $20,000 an acre or more will be worth less if a open face quarry mine is allowed on the Carr Farm property purchased by Continental Brick Company.

Technically Continental Brick Company has leased the property to North Mountain Shale, LLC however the owners and managers are active in both companies.

A LLC company is a Limited Liability Company or Corporation and protects the owners and managers from individual legal actions for the most part.  It is of the CARE group’s opinion that this company structure would allow North Mountain Shale to walk away from whatever permit obligations that were agreed to at some point in the future, leaving the scarred face of North Mountain as it were.

Even a most superficial look at this map would make the point that a quarry would be placed right in the middle of a large concentration of individual residential communities and be detrimental to the citizens living there now and who might have lived there in the future.
